License
ComfyReader is published by Lane Fries, an individual developer ("we", "us"), and is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms add a few points specific to ComfyReader. If anything here conflicts with the standard EULA, the standard EULA applies.
Extra Comfy subscription
Extra Comfy is an optional auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through Apple's In-App Purchase and billed to your Apple Account. It includes every scene's visuals, word-by-word highlighting and automatic page turns in Read Aloud, Spotlight Reading, and the Premium Audio narration of catalog books. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe. New subscribers may get a free trial, as shown in the app. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings or from Settings > Extra Comfy > Manage Subscription. It can be shared through Family Sharing. When it ends, you keep your books, bookmarks, reading progress, settings and downloads.
Premium Audio
Premium Audio ("Narrate This Book") is generated narration of one of your books, for English books only. It is a one-time purchase priced by the length of the whole book, and it can be bought with or without Extra Comfy. Before you pay, the app shows the price and asks you to confirm that you have the right to use the book's text. Payment is made through Apple's In-App Purchase and billed by Apple. Premium Audio is not shared through Family Sharing. Purchases can be restored from Settings > Extra Comfy > Restore Purchases. If narration can't be completed, the app offers a retry or a refund path. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a Premium Audio purchase, the book loses its narration and the features that came with it, and the narration made from your book is deleted from our server.
Your content
You are responsible for the files you import. Only import books and documents that you have the right to use, and only buy Premium Audio narration of them for your own personal use. You keep all rights to your files.
Narration
Premium Audio is a service: we turn text you have the right to use into speech, for you alone to listen to inside ComfyReader. It is not the sale of an audiobook. Narration is for your personal, non-commercial use and may not be redistributed.
Public domain books
Catalog books are public domain works provided by third-party sources. Their availability may change.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date.
